Allison is a Senior at Clements High School where she is enrolled in advanced and AP classes carrying a 4.87 grade point average. She is a member of the varsity ladies golf team and has been a Girl Scout for 13 years. Allison is the recipient of the Girl Scout Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards. She has also received an Outstanding Citizen Award; Community Innovation Award; and Service Beyond Self Award. Allison has chosen Children's Literacy as her platform and presented the "Making The Difference Award" to the Honorable David Wallac, Mayor of Sugar Land for his commitment to children's literacy. At the end of her year of service, Allison wants to have made a difference in the lives of children by introducing them to the joy of reading. By working with local libraries, schools, and day care centers, her hope is that the community will embrace her "Allison's Angels" Summer Reading Program. She would like to not only be the voice for children but also for the Ellis County Scholarship Organization in promoting the program to other young women so that the next Miss Ellis County will be excited about all of the wonderful things that can be accomplished during her year. Simply put, Allison wants to lead by example. |
